The Fruit of My Labor...

Canning is NOT for wimps. I canned all day Monday and part of the day Tuesday and it is absolutely exhausting.

A friend of mine brought over a bushel and a half of apples Monday and we went to work peeling, and coring. My fingers cramped up and my fingernails are still stained. But the results are so worth it. I canned 3 quarts & 12 half pints of apple butter; 1 quart, 4 pints, & 6 half pints of apple jelly; and 7 quarts of apple sauce. I will be so thankful I did this come winter time. ;)

I LOVE it when people share pictures of their activities like this. Just making jam was such a big job for me, I can imagine your back was aching by the end of the day. And it took me weeks to get the blueberry stain from under my nails.

Good job! You're right, it will be so nice for your family to have all this come winter time.
